Our History and Mission
The «Rice Millers’ Association» was founded in 1950 in the city of Montevideo, as a member of the Uruguayan Chamber of Industry.
Our mission is:
- Assist the rice industry to speak with a unified voice.
- Work to gain important international market access for Uruguayan rice.
- Develop and foster the spirit of partnership among rice mill owners.
- Develop all the initiatives and carry out all the steps before local government authorities, as well as before government authorities of MERCOSUR member countries and other countries with which the Uruguayan rice sector maintains a commercial relationship, seeking for the protection and improvement of the industry and the general interests of the sector.
- Represent the sector in Salary Councils.
